GPC warns PCT clusters 'engineering' CCG board elections

Dr Laurence Buckman raised concerns that some CCGs are not holding democratic elections to appoint members to the board with sessional GPs often excluded from electoral processes.
He said in some areas CCGs appear to be ‘dominated’ by small numbers of practices who ‘have a lot of control over who gets in’. PCT clusters are also ‘engineering’ who is on the CCG boards in some areas, he added.
